Very good hotel, shame about some of the Reception Staff! 1st, the excellent. Great food, both breakfast and evening meal. Room large, clean and nicely decorated. Bar staff, waiting staff - brilliant . All areas very clean. Lovely building with an interesting history, nice ambience. The (very) bad - on arrival I went to reception while my husband parked the car. The older guy on reception was checking the booking when my husband joined me. Thereafter EVERY word the receptionist said was directed to my husband, even when I gave him my card to guarantee extras. He did not look at me once, making me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Similar experience the following morning with an older lady on reception when asked about booking a table for dinner. I cannot understand how this hotel has got it 100% right with other staff and 100% wrong with these 2 reception staff! We would definitely have given 5 stars if not for these 2 rude people. Sorry hotel!
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Fantastic wedding venue. The coffees are delicious and love the little added extra choccy treat. Will definitely be returning this year.
Fantastic staff who can't be more helpful. The food is delicious. Room is clean, comfortable bed and plenty of space. Nice and warm on a chilly day.
Probus Lunch. It was our monthly meeting of Horncastle Ladies Probus. We started arriving from 11.30 onwards. We officially meet from 12.00 midday until 3.00 pm. Our Lunch this week was Fish grilled & served with New Potatoes veg & Parsley Sauce. I My self had ordered a Ham Salad & when it arrived at our table really looked beautifully laid out on a square plate. It was one if the best salads I have eaten at the Rodney. Everyone said that their meal was lovely well cooked. Pudding was Sticky toffee pudding and Ice cream. Well it was delicious. We go to the Rodney every month bare November & December and the meals are always lovely. Why not give it a try.
Everywhere is spotless & clean. A really welcoming hotel with character, friendly helpful staff right in the town. I've stayed here several times as it beats the rest.
